Taste of Writing – A workshop on Cooking & Writing
Cooking is about many things- smells and flavours, taste and texture, sight and colours, memories and evocations. Writing also makes us embark on the same journey. The workshop on ‘Taste of Writing’ is to facilitate an understanding of how food and flavours can enhance the power of your writing.
Workshop Plan – Day 1
10.00 – 11.30 – My favourite food – Discussing & Writing
11.30 – 11.45 – Snacks
11.45 – 1.15 – Writing Recipes & Cooking
1.15 – 2.00 – Lunch Time – Eating what we cooked!
2.00 – 3.30 – Stories about Food…sharing and writing
3.30 – 3.45 – Tea & Snacks
3.45 – 5.15 – Exploring Flavours and writing about them
Workshop Plan – Day 2
10.00 – 11.30 – Food Blogging
11.30 – 11.45 – Snacks
11.45 – 1.15 – Making Pasta
1.15 – 2.00 – Lunch
2.00 – 4.00 – Creating a story with food
4.00 – 5.00 – Sharing session
Participating children will cook simple dishes and weave stories and poems around their experience.
At the end of the workshop, the writing will be shared with a small audience comprising of friends and parents.
