HOO’s Tales second edition

March 4, 2009

The second edition of HOO’s Tales was quite a success! We had nine artistes ranging from traditional Yakshagana-style performance to digital stories.
There was a total of 38 performances through the day. Jeeva Raghunath came all the way from Chennai for the event. Koutuka were back this year with a different puppet show – a Panchatantra tale. Nicky Bingham happened to be visiting Bangalore yet again and was at HOO’s Tales second year in a row. Terence Duraisami and Sabreen Baker brought a fun theatrical performance of a West African folk tale – Ananse the Greedy Spider while the 5 storytellers from Sarsayee had such a huge collection of stories in English, Kannada and Hindi that their audience were given a choice of language at the start of every performance! It was such a lovely sight to see kids sitting under a tree and listening to a story. Patara brought their treasure chest of books to read fromt this year too! The BookBox team came from Pondicherry to screen their “Anibooks” and Nagesha Balegaara and his troupe from Bhatkal came all the way for the popular Simhana Nrutya.
Radhika Chadha, the author of the hugely popular books, I’m So Sleepy, Snoring Shanmugam and Colour-colour Kamini came to read from her latest book , , Mallipoo, Where are you?
Photographs will be up soon!
