This year’s Newbery goes to…

January 28, 2009

gaimanNeil Gaiman for The Graveyard Book!
The book tells the story of a boy, Nobody Owens, who lives in the cemetry and is raised by ghosts. Intriguing huh?! Definitely worth a read, I think.
The Honor Books are The Underneath by Kathi Appelt, The Surrender Tree: Poems of Cuba’s Struggle for Freedom by Margarita Engle, Savvy by Ingrid Law, After Tupac & D Foster by Jacqueline Woodson.
If anyone’s read these books, do forward us a review!
